I've seen it years ago, when the movie just came out.. But recently I watched the movie again. I have mixed feelings about this movie. On the one hand, it's touching, and funny, and great. And on the other hand, It doesn't end the way I want it to. (not to say anything more, or I'll crap it up for you who haven't watched it as yet)
I loved the idea behind it. Altruism with a touch of the "chain-letter" effect.
Anyways, I recommend it whole-heartedly. It got twists, it got tears, it got all the ingredients of a good movie, with a good plot, which doesn't use any special effects.. (maybe a bit of stunt work, no more)
Well, first off, I didn't get to go to the Kinneret - the water level was too high for safety...
But my post today is about something completely else: Sleep.
We all spend a large part of our lives sleeping. But you don't know to appreciate a good night (or day) sleep until you really need one.
Naturally, I'm sleep deprived - hence the post. I basically deprive myself of sleep, 'cause I work long hours, and when I get home, I don't feel that going to sleep would be anything but a waste of time.. so I spend time on the computer (not now though, this is written from work :> ) , Watch TV, read, go to a movie, anything except sleep. I go to sleep at about 12:00 - 12:30 usually, but sometimes later. and I always get up before 7AM (mostly 6:30) - without needing an alarm watch.
But right now, I'm so tired the world seems to be a bit blurry, and breathing becomes shallow - meaning, I need to remember to breathe right or I become short breathed. This is a bad state of things, as I am at work right now.. Oh well, at least I'm not at the halucinations stage.. :)
This is one of the less remembered Superman Films.. Well, at least to me..
I think the superman series only got dated in the 90's.. or even mid 90's.. And that's quite an achievment! considering the first movie was made back in '78, and the last in '87...
I wasn't one of the kiddies who wanted to fly like superman, I rathered just be a detective, or a cowboy, or someone who deals with firearms or explosives.. Mmmm.. yes, I'm a pyro at heart.. but quite a harmless one. (I stick with fireworks whenever I can get them)
That said, superman WAS a big thing for me.. coming to life from the comic books.. In a way that back than seemed quite miraculous!
So I was sad when I heard about christopher reeve's demise.. Young age and pointless death.. He's a guy who should have enjoyed life.
I mean altering your body.. whether it's piercing, tattooing, breast implants, fat removal.. anything that changes the body you were given - in human hands..
I can say for myself that mostly I like it. not on me, 'cause I kinda like my body the way it is.. and for other reasons as well.
But I like it on other people, mostly on girls.. :)
I think it can be sexy! As long as it's done in taste, and not OVERDONE..
Some seems kinda painful to me..
And of course there are tattoos..
Tattoos can be beautiful.. they may hold a meaning.. be a sign for love or a bond.. show rebelion.. so many things. and they become an integral part of you.. weightless, they go whereever you go..
In essence, (in my eyes) tattoos are a way to leave a mark (literraly) in the world. To show inner desires, and flaunt some emotions without being too mushy..
I wouldn't like any body augmentation having to do with the private parts.. can't stand it, since I ampathise with the "victim" and it just hurts too much.. Of course, I have no prejudice against breast implants.. (Hey, I'm a guy!) even though girls do them usually because they feel insecure and it helps their self esteem.. and that's never a good reason for that..
To sum it up.. tats and piercings are great. In small amounts the go a long way. I'd love to hear your take on this. :)
The quietness of it.. the lonleyness of it.. sometimes the coldness of it (depends on the weather).
Time to rewind, look up to a new day, get to sleep or not you're still gonna feel the day turning.
News.. ain't got any. Over here sunday is like most other countries' monday. back to work, starting the week. the longest day of it.
Staying up as late as I can is a part of trying to use the time I have once I get back home. As if time is lost while you're asleep. Time is well used while you sleep. Not just from the medical side, but from all different aspects. Maybe I'll write about it someday soon. For now I'm just going to sleep. and dream.
And now there was a bombing in Egypt (Taba) - Hilton Taba Hotel, to which many Israelis goes to vacation over the holidays has been bombed using a Bomb Truck - causing a big part of the building (around 10 stories) to collapse.
The numbers so far are about 30-35 dead, with about 150 injured.
People are still burried under the wreckage, so the numbers are not final.
I send my condolences to the families of the Dead, and my support to the families of the injured.
Love is fickle.. it's elusive. you might think you find love, but at the end you might be left with wisps of smoke..
I keep reminding myself of that. Tread lightly.. Watch out for yourself.. You might think it's more than it is.. And I usually forget all these things once I see a chance for love. It SUCKS.
Men are said to be governed by what's between their legs rather than what's between their ears. It's true but only to a certain extent. You might satisfy the urge, but than you look for something more. I guess that in order to match the woman psyche, I try to do the opossite - look for that "something more" first.
Here's a pic from the Game-On Exhibition. one of many things on display.. such as story boards for GTA, Sims, and lots of other stuff.
A real original Pong game was on display right on the entrance! I kick ass in Pong! LOL
Also, Space invaders, Pac Man, and more modern day games.. from Double Dragon to Medal of Honor.. Games Galore.. and you can play and touch and experience all of them! (aside from the ones broken by someone before you that is..)
You're supposed to stay only for 90 minutes in there... com'on.. this is Israel! :) nobody listens.. we were there for almost 4 hours.. :D
Makes me all nostalgic..
Oh, and saturday night I went to the movie "Sky Captain and the World of tommorow" (damn long name..)
Very nice visuals.. it's an all-digital movie. shot almost exclusively over a blue screen. The plot's kinda thin, but who comes for the plot?? I came for Angelina.. and Gwinth didn't hurt either! :P
Anyways, Have a great week!
Oh, and Visit my friend 14's blog, She's a great girl! :) (on the left there)
It's a roaming exhibition and this week it's in Israel..
This is all about the history of computer games.. from the very first games to the newest and best.. and the best part is - it's a hands-on experience! :)
