Head Ache

Got this headache, I think it's 'cause I don't drink enough, but I'll soon check that.

Do you take pills for headaches? Personally, I don't like them too much. they treat the symptom rather than the cause. So they make you drowsy in order to drown the head/other ache.

Mostly, modern medicine always do that - treat the symptoms rather than address the cause. Older methodologies, such as the chinese classic medicine, does the opossite - goes to the cause rather than try to address the symptoms.

However, I wouldn't go to naturopathy or look up a chinese doc. (which are kind of hard to find here.. :>) each time I get a headache..

So I basically bear it out.

It also seems now, that it has to do with my own caffeine addiction :) - I stopped drinking regular coffee, but I still occasionally drink coke.

And when you stop feeding yourself caffeine, you get headaches. The way to stop'em dead? right.. get more caffeine :D

K-Meleon
01.26.05 (4:18 am)   [edit]

Today I want to introduce to you a new mozilla based browser (same as firefox, for instance) - Its name is K-Meleon. It's a tab based multi windowed browser (enables you to open several windows under the same browser main window) and It Is LIGHTNING fast..

It also sports a built-in popads blocker and password manager.

Give it a try if you want :)

(this bit of info was found on haaretz online. thanks)

Just a Ball

A British professor is urging for the use of ferrite beads on wired, hands-free headsets to absorb excess radiation that may travel up the outside of the wire. The same sort of ferrite beads are often seen on monitor cables—it's that bulging cylinder right before the plug—and should add only pennies and a little weight to the headsets. While no one will cop to the idea that radiation from cellphones is harmful, if you're already going through the effort to stave off potential tumors by using a hands-free earpiece you might as well take it all the way.

This bit was taken as is from Gizmodo.com - thanks guys! :)

Team America Poster

Hello everyone!

Have you had a chance to watch this movie? If you liked Southpark, you're bound to love this.. :)

It's hard to say what their real views though, 'cause sometimes I think they DO subscribe to the crazy stuff they do in their movies/series :)

If you ever wanted to see puppets have sex (in many positions), puke more than their own body weight, or just have fun burning, exploding, shooting and beheading other puppets - that's definitely the movie you'd like to see :)

They took the photography director who did the "Matrix" movies, but I suspect it wasn't that critical.. :) most of the large scale sets were paintings and such. (aside from locations of the scenes of course)

Anyways, I heartily recommend it. When you need some distraction, this silly movie will provide it BIG TIME.

Cold
01.19.05 (4:00 am)   [edit]

Don't you just hate it? I mean, I much rather be sick "for real" - with a fever and so on lying in bed and feeling crappy, than having a cold, sneezing, chills, and no fever "to show for it"..

On another note altogether, I'm thinking of moving my blog to blogger.com - what do you people think?

Not disrespect, but there is too much downtime in tblog.com to stay on it.

I wish you all a great, cold-free week!

New Horizon

If any of you remember, (if not, just scroll down or look at the archive) I mentioned speed dating in one of my previous posts.

Well, It's happening. I didn't do it so far, but today I called and set things in motion!

In one week's time, I'll be going on a date with 8-10 girls over one night.. 8 minutes per date. (that's the speed part for anyone who wasn't paying attention)

of course, rotating with me will be the same number of guys. so, at the end, each person (males and females) writes who he/she liked and if that person does the same, contact details are exchanged. If not, than not.

I expect the worst (well, not the total worst..) but hope for the best.

Wish me luck! :)

Caffeine

Coffee...

Who drinks coffee in the morning? Com'on! I want to see a show of hands!

Almost everybody, right?

Some cannot really start the day without that cup, or two, or more.

I thought about making this post about what caffeine really does to your system when it gets in, but I think I'll save it from you :)

Like any "good" drug, caffeine is addictive. It's found in many more products aside from coffee. Actually, coffee is not the beverage with the most amount of caffeine in it.. Can anyone guess which one is?

No, it's not coke, (maybe jolt cola, but no regular coke) - It's Tea. The regular kind, not the herbal sorts.

Okay. All the addicts - wanna try something? try avoiding coffee for a single day. See what happens. :)

Basically it's the same effects as withdrawal from any other drug. (aside from the robbing of a convenient store in order to get some money to quench the thirst)

You get restless, irritable, annoyed and annoying really easily.

It would take from 3 days to two weeks or so to kick the habit entirely. Not a pretty sight.. :)

But what's so bad about caffeine? It get's you going in the morning, helps you stay alert during the day and long work nights, so what's the big problem?

Caffeine is an addictive drug. Among its many actions, it operates using the same mechanisms that amphetamines, cocaine, and heroin use to stimulate the brain.

Here's another fact: Typical milk chocolate contains 6 mg per ounce.

Real Blurry

Well, I gone to my doctor to try and treat my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) - and she prescribed me these pills, which among other things makes you kinda blurry.. you know, "do not operate heavy machinery, do not drive, do not think too much.."

Well, I must say, it's not too bad.. :D

Sometimes it's good to blur out for a bit.

The pills will last for a week, and than I'll see if it helps any.

I'm sorry if the picture kinda makes you crazy.. try and not look at it for too long.. LMAO

Restless

Can't sit still

Do you know how it is? When you just can't sit, or lie still?

Even when you're dog tired, even when you've had a whole day of work, and your body do wants a rest, you can get restless.

It's the brain's fault really. Thoughts run after each other, colliding into one another, never resting, never stopping.

Have you ever really tried to clear your mind? I mean really clear it, from thought, color, image, sound, everything. If you do, you'll find it next to impossible. Even meditation uses a focus object in order to occur.

It may be a sound, breathing, a color, or an image, but you have to anchor your brain to something.

Ever wondered what would happen if you could really empty your mind? I read somewhere that when you could reach that goal, you'll reach a new level of existence, a new sphere of consciousness.

Have you ever felt enlightened? what do you make of that concept - enlightenment?
