Who hasn't been on at least one Blind Date?
My estimate is that most single and non-single guys and gals have been on at least one of those..
You call, or get called by, someone you know nothing about, and who's got your phone number from a friend, or a friend of a friend.
For me, (again like many others I believe) blind dates are potential disasters.. I rarely ever go on them, because I'm usually left dissapointed.
I did go on a speed date, which is a multiple blind dating event - but that was one night, in which you meet from 7 to 13 girls in the course of one evening, 7-8 minutes a girl. You don't have awkward silent moment (most never) because you hardly have a moment to spare.. and you don't have to worry about calling or not calling the next day - since you don't get any number unless you both want to meet a second time.
But back to this post's topic: Blind dates.
I always go with the attitude of "Expect the worse, yet hope for the best"
It leaves me somewhat wary, but almost never really dissapointed.
To the last blind date, which came after a long time of no dates (aside from that speed dating night) I went with the same way of thinking. I sat in the coffee shop trying to prepare myself for a shock.. :)
Naturally I was pleasantly surprised.. well, not really naturally. The last blind date I recall was a disaster.
This time it was a real improvement. She was easy on the eyes, and quite nice to talk to. Plus she didnt really leave any silent spaces.. and it's a good thing. I rather that the girl be a talker than the quiet type.
(This way, I can be the quiet, mysterious type.. ;) )
So, I just hope it'll go well. I'm giving it another chance (as in, a second date).
In accordance with the prophecy!
