Iguasu

 

At the end of the year 2000, I went on a trip to South America, which covered 5 states.

The picture you see above was not taken by me, but is of a place I've been to. The Iguasu Falls, on the border of Brazil, Argentina, and a few other countries. It is one of the 7 (or maybe 8?) world wonders.

It is a magnificent view. I've seen it from both the argentinean side, and from the brazilian side.

My trip was of the backpacking kind. I feel like it was one of the most meaningful things I've ever done, and I miss the sense of unparalleled freedom I had while traveling.

Each morning, I didnt have any plans. I just made my plans as I went. I might have been supposed to go some place at a certain day, but on the morning of that day could have changed my plan upside down.

It's not just an escape from the everyday life of work, routine, and habit, but a possible way of life. I've heard of several people who work a few months a year, and spend the rest of that year traveling without a care in the world.

What are your thoughts?

The new "Fantastic 4" Movie

Fantastic 4


Just came back from this flick.


Impressions? It's a nice movie...


Lacking in a tight plot, it makes up with some really nice visuals, which could still be tweaked to look a little less computer generated..


Good bunch of actors, including that McMahon guy who was in "Charmed", and "Nip|Tuck", Michael Chicklis from "The shield" (probably mis-spelled his name), and of course, Jessica Alba.. All time favourite of teen movies, and "Dark Angel"'s Star.


Don't go to this movie with too much expectations.. its a popcorn, lite-on-the-brain type of movie.. Try and take it for what it is.. just that.

Childhood

Boy oh Boy

I've been to a memorial for my brother the other day..

And they shown some slides from our childhood.

These, from all the slides and home movies shown that evening, made me tear up the most.

These are the most vivid memories I have of him.

I keep thinking "what if"? He should have been here to see me buy my car, and maybe pass judgement.. (I probably would have disregarded it, me being pig headed and all)

He should have been here to play with our nephew which he loved/loves so much..

He should have been here to take all this grief away. So much grief I never could have imagine exists.

It's like someone made a deliberate decision to take someone so inherently good, and affect so many lives.

I must admit, I had good times with him as a child, and also bad times. He's not a bit less stuborn than I am. Maybe it runs in the family..

And being the youngest brother, I know I wasnt nice to him too much than. I know regretting it now doesnt do much of anything.

I keep thinking, What if..
