Today is Yom Kippur. Yom = Day, Kippur = Attonement

In judaism, this day is meant for reckoning. Making peace with yourself, Cleaning the slate from all the sins and wrong doings, and starting the new jewish year with a lighter heart and a zest for living.

This is also a day of fasting. No food, and No drink for approximately 25 hours. As an added "bonus", no cars or vehicles (aside from emergency vehicles) are allowed on this holy day. So the streets are free from any traffic but pedestrians and bicycle riders.

It is a religious holiday, but for me, its just a natural part of my life. I like doing it every year. It just feels right.
