I use my shades both as a shield and as a window.

 

It shields me from the world, both physically, from the sun, and the brightness, and emotionally, from the need to confront looks, or be embarrased from looking straight into the eyes of another person.

 

It's also a window through which I see the world through a colorful filter. Colours looks different. Sometimes brighter, sometimes just different. I see the world through a tint, and sometimes it looks better that way.
