Good morning/evening boys and girls! Today I'll tell you about how the film studios are going to <careful, nasty word ahead> screw you over with the new and exciting prospect of High Definition TV! Simply put, in the name of DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act), and with the use of DRM (Digital Rights Management) both in software and in hardware, they are going to totally control the way we percieve "ownership", and in actuality, negate it. No more buying the content and being able to play it more than once without paying more for any further use. No more transferring the content to your own digital player, or even connecting with an analogue cable to "bypass" the protection.. that's been taken care of with a nice new technology named Video Encoded Invisible Light (VEIL) No more making backup copies of YOUR movies purchased, bought, paid for and owned (?) by yourself! (oops, the term ownership will cease to exist probably) In short, the studios have supported the DMCA not for the purpose of fighting piracy, as they would like us all to believe, but mainly for the purpose of CONTROLLING the content. They want to take the ownership back to their own hands, and make us pay again, and again, and again for the same content, if we want to watch it again, or make any use of it. The only way we, as consumers can fight this, is by the power of the masses, the power of your wallet! DO NOT BUY ANY HD/BLU-RAY PRODUCT! NO MATTER IF IT IS THE MOVIES OR THE PLAYERS OR THE RECORDERS. IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO DELIVER THE MESSAGE ACROSS! WE DO NOT WANT DRM! WE DO NOT WANT CONTROL OVER THINGS WE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR!
