Augmentation
10.13.04 (3:20 pm)   [edit]
What do you think about augmentation?

I mean altering your body.. whether it's piercing, tattooing, breast implants, fat removal.. anything that changes the body you were given - in human hands..

Beautiful Eye

I can say for myself that mostly I like it. not on me, 'cause I kinda like my body the way it is.. and for other reasons as well.

But I like it on other people, mostly on girls.. :)

I think it can be sexy! As long as it's done in taste, and not OVERDONE..

=> OVERDONE

Some seems kinda painful to me..

And of course there are tattoos..

Not a real one.. of course..

Tattoos can be beautiful.. they may hold  a meaning.. be a sign for love or a bond.. show rebelion.. so many things. and they become an integral part of you.. weightless, they go whereever you go..

Simple, but nice

In essence, (in my eyes) tattoos are a way to leave a mark (literraly) in the world. To show inner desires, and flaunt some emotions without being too mushy..

I wouldn't like any body augmentation having to do with the private parts.. can't stand it, since I ampathise with the "victim" and it just hurts too much.. Of course, I have no prejudice against breast implants.. (Hey, I'm a guy!) even though girls do them usually because they feel insecure and it helps their self esteem.. and that's never a good reason for that..

To sum it up.. tats and piercings are great. In small amounts the go a long way. I'd love to hear your take on this. :)

Kid-O

Have a great day!

I love tattoos and piercings :) I have a few of my own. My mother took me to get my first tat' at age 14, it is a butterfly on my ankle.
For my body, I want any permanent work done in a place wear i can cover it, if needed. And YES, overdoing it can look tacky.

The picture of the baby is a bit extreme, but I have seen HUGE debates over piercing a childs ears...do you think that is wrong?

the baby pic is of course a fake.. but I thought it looked too adorable to miss.. :D
I don't think augmenting kiddies bodies is a good thing. they need to have a mind of their own before their body is messed up.. :)

Tattoos are okay, if u dont overdo them, same for piercings. I dont have ne tattoos, but I know a lot ofppl who do. My ears r peirced tho lol. To Anastacia's comment, I believe it is okay, if not better to get the mpierced when their younger isn't always best. It should be their choice to do that. The parents should wait until te child is older (at least 5)

I think peircing is alright, and I love tatoos, but I dislike how people change their figure or anything.. EX: Nose jobs, lypo, implants, ect... Omg, I totally want my tonge and nose peirced(like a small diamond on the side, or a ring on the side), I''m getting my belly button done at the end of this semester. I LOVE the baby picture, it's adorable! But good thing it's fake, I would have to hunt down his parents and shoot them and yell at them for what a HORRIBLE mistake they've done to their child! :)

all 4 it, but the last pick, so not cool, it should be an age of consent kinda thing, 18 and up only.

i used to have a few piercings. they were a symbolic cleansing for me, i had one done every time i felt like i was at rock bottom. that's been three times in my life.

i would like to redo my piercings and have a few more done, nothing too obvious.

i'd love to have some tatts.

it's a pleasure/pain thing for me.

I don't even have my ears pierced. Although I do have a notch where the piercing ripped out in 3rd grade... Anyway, I like some piercings and tats on others - some I do not. For me, its aesthetics and I'm sure mine differ from others. I did have a friend who, in the late 80's, had her 6 year old son's ear pierced. She got a lot of crap for that - and teachers thought she was the devil.

In my book, bellybutton piercings are passe at this point...

In my professional life, working and dealing with folks at Fortune 100 companies - I have not encountered one person with a nose, tongue or eyebrow piercing.

Of course they can be removed, but I think a lot of kids do it without thinking long-term.

It's a free world. But I agree that no one should be pierced besides the ears or tattooed at ALL until they are 18 (although I think 21 would be smarter) - parental consent should not be a loophole...
