Personally I love my teaching job, and I'd rather live a shorter life if it means stressing over something I love. posted by: JT (reply) post date: 02.09.05 (5:50 am) I had almost six weeks off of work last fall while recovering from surgery and then pneumonia, and at the time, my husband was hoping to get a really awesome job. He mentioned to me that, if he got it, I could consider staying home with our youngest son and quitting my job. I'd never considered it seriously before (I'm not that patient, and I *hate* housework), but it began to sound soooo dreamy. Imagine -- if the worst part of your day was cleaning up the little messes of a two-year-old. I could work out every day. I could cook again. I could spend sunny days at the park with my kid and like-minded cool moms.... Alas, it was not to be. I'm still grinding away stomping on software bugs. But it was nice to dream. :-) |
