Missing Words
02.19.05 (8:36 am)   [edit]
Word Tornado

Do you know how it is when you have a jumble of words and ideas in your head?

With me it's like that almost all the time. It gets to a point where its so fast Its hard to discern ideas and words apart.

When I was younger, I used to write stories. I would just sit down and let the ideas pour and form shape on the blank page. I even used to tell stories sometimes. Not read them out of a written text.. just tell it as I go along.

It's amazing to look at children's faces when they are riveted by a story.. nothing else like it.. :) I used to stop dead right in the middle just to look at their faces..

Damn... saying that makes me look like a grandpa! :D well I'm not!

Now where was I? <picking my spectacles>

Oh right.. Missing words. the title..

Every now and then, people get stuck with phrases.. words form sentences in their heads before they even get them out, but sometimes, when the time comes - you find yourself lacking the words you so carefully formed just seconds ago.

You begin to feel you're losing it.. maybe you don't eat so good.. maybe you need to work out more?

Do you know what's the thing about brain cells? Brain cells die every day, like most other cells in your body. But.. they don't regenerate. usually that is.

What is interesting, the brain does keep on developing. The more active you get (with ur mind, not ur muscles) - the more new neuro connections and pathes are created. the more agile and faster your brain becomes. even when we're talking about advanced age.

So... if you start missing out on words, it's just a warning sign from your brain - wagging its tail and saying: give me some excercise!!!

In accordance with the prophecy!

This is a good post. I know exactly what you mean. I'll think of a really good description or something then 10 seconds later I'm beating myself up trying to remember it. And that's a great picture.

This happens pretty often with me as well. Usually I can trace my steps and find it again though. This was a good post, I enjoyed reading it quite a bit. I'm going to get some exercise now! hahaha
