Stormy
05.24.05 (5:04 am)   [edit]

History shows that a person's life is full of turbulences, changes, and the unexpected.

As a result of all that, there are times a person is "down", and usually, there are also times a person is "up".

What one can expect, is like the sea. Once you get to the top of a wave, you can reasonably expect, not to stay there for very long.

This gives reason for hope that when you're at the bottom, you will get a boost for the better as time progresses. But is it really so?

Once you're down, can you really rely on life's symetry to pull you back up? Can it really give you a boost that is equal to the blow you just received?

Sometimes it's just too hard to hope, and believe that..

Life and the world, in my eyes, are a set of weights and balances. Nature always strives for a balance. But balance is constantly challenged. Can it really be maintained for long?

i see it more like valleys and mountains...theres always another mountain, only if you keep climbing.

someone once said also, we dont stumble over mountains...we stumble over pebbles.

It's a dog eat dog world. We're owed nothing. I believe man is inherently good and will look after his own though.

You know I can relate to your post alot. However I feel like I'm in a valley. There are mountains on either side...it's just to hard to climb the mountain, so I stay here where I am... I am neither extremely happy, nor extremely sad..but I just exist.

interesting concept. But for me the valleys between the waves are very long and the time riding the crest very short. Too short. Much too short.

That photo you posted is mesmerizing. Thank you.

Balance is an excellent word. How often we get out of kilter, and how much we need the strength to right ourselves. We can all use a little balance.

May I convey my condolence for your recent loss. Life is often times tragic. We know not its meaning, but we keep on striving for understanding, on those good days when the sun still shines.

the ups and downs of the waves analogy only works if you have the ability to float. if you can just relax and trust the waves... if you struggle... even attempt to swim your head goes under...
